Beliefs

No two people believe exactly the same thing about every aspect about God. We recognize that it’s through a life-long journey of learning about God, walking with Him, and seeking to understand the Bible from which people form what they believe. We also recognize that it is important to clarify our beliefs and doctrine for our teaching and training believers. Throughout history theologians, leaders, and lay persons have studied and contemplated how to interpret Scripture and formulated doctrines from that perspective. We join the many Christ followers that emphasized the following that shape a daily walk with Christ.

About God

We believe in one God who exists in three persons (the Trinity): Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is infinite, which does not always make sense to our finite understanding. He is creator, eternal, all-knowing, ever-present, and all-powerful.

About Jesus

Jesus is the eternal Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life. He is fully God and fully man. He died on a cross to pay the penalty for son that separated us from God and rose from the dead to reconcile us to our Creator.

About the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is given to every follower of Christ to guide, comfort, convict, and adopt us into the family of God. He help us grow in Christ likeness by producing the fruit of the Spirit in our lives, and He gives us spiritual gifts. He empowers us to be a witness of Jesus and His kingdom to all people.

About the Bible

Comprised of 66 books authored over thousands of years by dozens of authors, the Bible tells one seamless story: a passionate God on a relentless pursuit to redeem His creation. The Bible is authoritative, inspired of God, and is trustworthy and reliable for telling us what to believe and how to live. It is the primary source for learning God’s story and how He desires us to follow Him.

About Salvation

We were created in the image of God to have community with Him and represent Him on earth. However, through a willful act of disobedience, we were separated from Him. The Father sent Jesus to redeem us through an willful act of atonement which culminated with Jesus’ death on the cross and His resurrection from the dead. This gave us the opportunity to receive His righteousness through faith by His grace. Jesus sacrifice is the only means for our salvation and reconciliation with the Father.

Marriage

Because of the current culture, our view on marriage is commonly asked about. We believe that created male and female in His image, and that His design for marriage is between one man and one woman.

Women in Leadership

This is the second most common question asked about our church. We do affirm women in all areas of leadership and believe that God calls, empowers, and ordains women as He does men. This would include any pastoral, board, or staff role in the church.
