Well, Fall is officially here and it is now socially acceptable to indulge in all things pumpkin. Pumpkin spice latte with a side of pumpkin scone, please! As the leaves fall and the seasons change, let there be change in your heart as well. Let the dead things(the despair, the hopelessness, the anger, the bitterness)fall away and trust God for new growth, new hope and new beginnings. In Isaiah 43:18-19 it says, "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See,I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." God is making a way for us! A way to a more healthy, whole self. If you'd like help or prayers as you pursue the new thing God is doing in your life during this season, please let us know! Just send a reply to this email and we'd love to pray with you.
Fall is a terrific time to create family traditions and memories. Purpose to get out and make memories with your kids this Fall. Remember that not all outings and adventures have to cost a lot of money. Head to the park in search of leaves to throw around and jump in, collect leaves for art projects, jump in puddles, make a pine cone bird feeder, take a drive to admire the changing colors of the leaves or make Halloween costumes out of things you already have at home.
You're Not the Boss of Me
Recently, Pastor Andy Stanley from North Point Community Church taught a sermon series on emotions. As you know, we are all about emotional health here at Transforming Life Church, so want to pass this resource on to you. These messages would be a great tool for you as you learn and grow.
"I Love You And..."
The Bible says that words have the power of life and death (Prov. 18:21). You've probably witnessed the power of words in your own life many times. How kind, thoughtful words can lift up, encourage, validate someone. How mean, careless words can destroy self-esteem, confidence, relationships. The words you are saying to your kids have the same power. Power to edify or shatter. The words you are saying to your kids will become their inner voice. What message are you sending to your kids?
