We believe that there is a God that created you, and called you good! Shame, pain, and the evil in this world cause us to feel terrible about ourselves and the life that we have. That is a really frustrating way to live. We invite you to discover a God that loves you and wants to renew all that shame, pain, and evil have affected. The Bible is the story about God the Father wanting to have a life giving relationship with all people, no matter their mistakes or failures. As a faith community, we want to support you in these areas that will deepen your relationship with God.
Jesus is the incarnate God that was sent to us and for us. We have His life and ministry written about in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Knowing Jesus is knowing God the Father. Consider His words to both the hurting and the religious elite. Consider His miracles that showed His power and revealed the divine. Consider His love and how it was unconditional and unconventional. Consider His death, burial, and resurrection. We invite you to discover Jesus is the healer you need and how a relationship with Him matters. Check out the stories of why people in our community chose to follow Jesus and why they continue to follow Him.
Learn who God is
God is currently introducing Himself to you. He will use a variety of avenues in your life to communicate to you that He is a good, loving, father that wants to be in relationship with you. Even before the written words of the Bible, God was revealing Himself to mankind. The Bible is that story. It gives us insight to who He is and His desire to be in relationship with you. We encourage you to read scripture and discover who He is. In addition, embrace the opportunity to take a good look at who you are, including your nature, desires, and behaviors. We believe that these show your need for God in your life.
Nietzsche said “If you know the why, you can live any how.” Purpose is a desire that is innate in all of us. We believe God put that desire inside of you and you will love living out His purpose for your life. First, your most important purpose is to love God with your whole heart. Everything else comes second to responding to God by full surrender of all that is you. This is a life-long journey that no one can take away. Jobs change, relationships change, and your desires change. You’ll be left disappointed if all your hope is in those parts of life. Second, God’s purpose for you is to love others like He would. This is something you will work at, invest in, and will constantly seek His help for. This includes sharing His love and message of hope to others, living like Jesus would in the midst of evil, and teaching others how to follow Him. You are on a mission in this world to live out His way of love to all that are around you.
We invite you to practice healthy rhythms that connect you to the heart of God. Slow down to appreciate all the gifts He’s given you, including life itself! Don’t be too busy to be aware of how much He loves you and cares for you. Take a break or Sabbath often, so that you can embrace the pace God sets instead of what the world around you sets. God knows your every need and wants you to rely on Him. We invite you to worship, to pray, and to be with supportive people as a healthy rhythm for your life with God.
